Contract for services to survey the load-bearing capacity of the surface on various sections of the state roads network

Client: Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda

The purpose of this contract is to carry out a systematic survey of 7,000 km of asphalt roads, obtaining the deflection and curve radius of the deflection basin, as well as surveying 8,000 mass-concrete pavement slabs with joints (with or without dowels), to obtain the load transfer between joints (12,000 tests), the deflection at the centre of the slab (4,000 tests), the possible existence of gaps under the slabs (16,000 tests), as well as the relationship between the deflection at the centre of the slab and the deflection at the joint. The following tasks are carried out:

1. Data collection in the field with high-performance equipment: Curve gauge and impact deflection gauge.
2. Office data processing: Office work consists of a series of activities to obtain calculation parameters from the results of the measurements, as well as processing the information to incorporate it into the relevant databases.
3. Generating maps: Graphic output is presented in the form of a map of the deflections obtained.
4. Presenting results: The sections of the reports are:
1. Report on the work carried out.
2. Appendices on the sections tested, incidents and statistical summary tables of results.
3. Maps of all the parameters and indices offered.
4. Database and images in an appropriate storage system for the fast handling of a significant volume of data. The format of the database will be submitted for the contract director's approval.
5. Viewer for desktop data and images: Enables all the data and reports on the surveying campaign to be displayed graphically.
6. Desktop viewer for web data and images: Enables reports to be downloaded and validated by everyone involved in the work.
