DRACE GEOCISA undertakes various activities for road-infrastructure management. These actions can be grouped into the following business areas:
Road surveys. Different types of surveying equipment are used to take measurements on roads to determine the condition of their surfaces and see how they evolve over time, in order to solve any structural or functional problems.
Road inventories. Vehicles are equipped with electronic instruments that analyse a road's physical and geometrical characteristics, building up information on the entire road inventory, with the added value of digitally recording panoramic front- and rear-view images.
Road safety. Road sections with high accident rates are inspected and studied, together with road-safety plans and annual accident statistics.
Structural inventories and inspections: This management approach is used to determine the condition of structures by means of inventories and inspections. Underpasses, overpasses and other structures are included, combining the properties of a database with forecasts of the actions necessary in order to keep structures safe.
Load tests on structures: Carrying out load tests and inspections on structures.
Noise and vibration studies. Taking measurements to certify noise and vibration on structures.
Infrastructure-management systems. The company's own software enables infrastructure managers to view, consult and update the applications in a single database. This management approach is used to determine the condition of roads and their structures by means of inventories and inspections. It combines the properties of a database with forecasts of the actions necessary in order to keep structures in optimal condition.
Infrastructure surveys and instruments. Existing infrastructure is monitored by analysing data from the instruments installed.
